Attention parents and students!  The Group Service Project & Camp returns to Ridge Haven this summer for Senior High and Junior High students and their leaders! This popular, low-cost camp combines the exciting activities and inspiring worship times of our regular camps with the faith-building opportunities of a service project. On May 10, 2012, Maryland Right to Life will hold its second annual banquet at Martin’s West in Baltimore, MD.  The banquet will feature several speakers including keynote speaker world reknown pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Benjamin Carson, Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins and a 2008 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient.  RSVP requested by April 30th.  More information can be found on their website here.

Southern Maryland Crop Hop, initiated by the Southern Maryland Agricutural Development Commission (SMADC), is a fundraiser bike tour held on Sunday October 14th.  The tour of Southern Maryland farms with proceeds going to help low income communities receive fresh local produce.  Riders in the event will start at Home Grown Market in St. Mary’s county, stop periodically to tour farms and taste locally grown and made snacks. Upon returning to the market, participants will receive a meal made of local ingredients. Participants will pay an entrance fee to offset the cost of the event and all excess funds will be allocated to bring fresh, local foods to underserved communities via the Southern Maryland Food Bank.There will be three routes, a 63 mile (metric century), a 29 mile and a 4 mile family route. The meal after the tour will be free to riders and can be purchased by non-riders. Registration and sponsorship forms will be available shortly.
